Course description:

APT Firearms Academy's Tactical Handgun Instructor Course is designed to teach instructor candidates the proper methods for instructing students in the law enforcement sidearm.  Legal issues, use of force and department policies will be discussed.  This course will greatly increase the candidate's shooting and teaching abilities.

 

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. approved course

• Sight alignment

• Sight picture

• Safety concerns

• 3 types of reloads

• Shooting positions

• One arm shooting

• One arm reloads

• Use of cover

• How to teach a low light / night fire course

 

Equipment needed:

• Duty firearm

• Leather

• 3 magazines or speed loaders

• 1,500 rounds of ammunition

• 4-inch revolver and leather

• 150 rounds of 38 special ammunition

• Police flashlight

• Knee and elbow pads

• Hat

• Inclement weather gear

• Ear and eye protection

• Note taking material

• Sack lunch
